Street Fight

Time slowed to a crawl as Shawn’s fist swung through the air and connected with Neil’s jaw. Neil felt the shot push his jaw out of place and seemingly loosen his teeth as blood spurted out his mouth on the other side. He turned his face back with the blow, making Albert overextend, ducking low and coming back with a hard left to Shawn’s lower ribcage. Shawn recoiled in pain, winced and seemed temporarily winded.

Neil’s gaze was intense, he had the look of a professional fighter to him, you could see the whites of his eyes as he held his head low, ready for action and started to jab at Shawn’s head. Shawn put his fists up to protect himself and Neil countered with two punched to his solar plexus. Shawn squinted and Neil knew the fight was close to being done. He spiralled around and slammed home a roundhouse kick to Shawn’s head and Shawn went down hard. The people who had gathered went nuts with hoots and howls and Neil walked up to Shawn and spat on his face. His reward? A bottle of whiskey and two cases of Molson. A gambler’s share.

A Couple of Pops

Even at the end of a freezing cold day a beer can be a man’s best friend. I had gotten into the habit of bringing home a six-pack on Fridays. Just a little something to take the edge off. One night I had to buy a warm six. To be safe, I picked up a mickey of rum and some cola. I got home, and sat down to drink what I could get. Soon, my mickey half gone, I drifted off. My wife put a blanket over me, and turned off the TV. Half asleep, I swear I heard a rifle go off. Bang! Bang! Bang! Instantly I was back in the Forces, my Sergeant shooting live ammo and screaming orders! I hit the canvas hard! Then it hit me. The beer. My wife forgot it in the freezer. I went to watch my Friday respite flow down the fridge door. Am I any less of a man because I had tears in my eyes as I licked the fridge and scooped up the beer puddle and drank it? I don’t think so. It was too late to buy more and my wife drank the last of my rum.

Summer At the Lake

Jenny loved heading to the lake in the hot summer days. There were so many men to meet. What she loved best was being offered chances to try out the big boy’s toys.

On this beautiful, hot, clear, sunny Saturday afternoon, Jenny was working on a thick, dark tan. No one could deny she looked stunning. A couple of guys passed around a football as she was tanning and one of them tripped over her leg.

            “Sorry! I’m really sorry!”

“Hey, aren’t you those water ski people?”

            “Yeah.”

“Let me have a spin and you’re forgiven.”

            “Sure! Done!”

Jenny got on the water skis and was taken for the ride of her life. As they went in close to shore, people waved and shouted. When she finally got tired of the waterskiing and went on shore, she realized that the shouts came because her bikini top had gotten undone and was blowing free held on only by her shoulders, revealing more than just her tan lines. It was hard to know if one of the boys had pulled the bow tie on her top before she started skiing, but in truth, Jenny kind of liked the attention it got her.
